Zaptra was established in 2005 with the intention to create electronic music. It began with a drum machine and acoustic guitar and quickly expanded to include several musical devices. In the last 2 years zaptra has played shows in Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco. Having had several residencies at the world famous Airliner, this allowed for fine tuning a sound to call Zaptra.

The Rise of the New Dawn EP came in the late summer of 2009, released on Apple's iTunes store. There are elements of lush synth strings with driving guitar that transcend through the tracks. With the help of acclaimed artist, Darryl Blood, the album artwork for the Dawn EP couldn't have fit the title any better. Blood has returned to create the artwork for the May 13th release, which will include a 12" Vinyl pressing with 4 tracks, full length CD and a very special addition USB flash drive that holds the full album and previously released HD quality music video's.
