 feo Negro).\n\nDirected by Marcel Camus, BLACK ORPHEUS is a cinematic 
 adaptation of the Greek legend of Orpheus and Eurydice. Set during Car
 naval in Rio de Janeiro, Orpheus is a streetcar conductor and Eurydice
  a country girl who has just jilted her lover and is attempting to esc
 ape his wrath. From the moment of its first appearance, this bitterswe
 et Afro-Brazilian romantic tragedy has charmed audiences the world ove
 r with its beauty, color and music. It played a major role in ushering
  the infectious bossa nova beat to the U.S. at the dawn of the modern
